Veteran’s Story: Relationship to Veteran: served in same unit in Vietnam. Good buddy. Notes: Steve Blassingame finaly recieved help for his ptsd. I met him in 1985 during a Vietnam vet rally called a “A Journey to Remember.” We were both former 11th cav. vets and we hit it off real good. His nick name was “Prettyboy.” He was well liked and a very courageous brother. I really can’t tell you much more about him except that we were both ate up with ptsd and numerous resentments toward our govt. and life in general. I visited the wall in 1994 and there was a former nurse there with an info. booth with an album of names and pics of Vietnam vets that had committed suicide. “Prettyboy’s” name and pic was there. (It broke my heart.) You can probably get some info from the ocal vets group or vva around Dallas or Denison Tx. Feel free to get in touch with me.
