Veteran’s Story: Ray was drafted into the Army in 1968. He was sent to Vietnam on February 27, 1969 and came home on October 11, 1969. He saw many of his friends and comrades killed. He always felt guilty that he came home and they didn’t. 15 years after coming home, on Halloween of 1985, he began to have flashbacks of his experiances in the Vietnam war. They deeply affected his life and he started drinking heavily in order to forget. He lost his job and went into many rehabs and hospitals, trying to get his life back in order. They all failed and on May 21, 1989 Ray took his own life at his home. He is buried in Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, PA
