Veteran’s Story: My brother left for Vietnam before I could remember him. I was so happy when he came home. He didn’t come straight home. He had to spend time in the VA due to post tramatic stress. He worked for a while and married several wonderful ladies before becoming 100% disabled. The war was still with him. My brother helped on suicide help lines and saved many of his brothers. From time to time he had to go back in the hospital dealing with the war. He belonged to many Vetran organizations and started a vetran motorcycle chapter. His body has been deterating for years due to the war. He dealed with the pain of the war by helping, lobbying for laws, sitting with and praying with his dieing brothers or their loved ones they left behind after killing their own selves. No, they didn’t do it to themselves, the depression caused by the war killed them. It was apparent my brother was going to loose his legs after many hip replacements; caused by the war. His heart had enough. He shot hisself. The VA asked his precious sons if it was service related. Um, Duh. YES!
