Veteran’s Story: I was stationed at Ft. Devens, MA, in 1966, completing traing and waiting to go to Vietnam. Charley showed up, back from Vietnam. We spent a few weeks together. He told me a bunch of war stories, what to expect etc. I think that was the last time I him. I got back from my tour in Apr. ’67, took a leave and through mutual friends heard that Charley wasn’t doing well. After my leave I was stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland. I left the service in 1969. I think that somewhere between ’67 and ’69 is where Charley killed himself.
